Our Mission
Unite schools and clubs to give every young person a clear, inclusive route into competitive rugby.
Why MK Alliance Exists
Competitive rugby within schools has declined in recent years, particularly across state schools where fixture calendars and resources have been stretched. MK Alliance was formed to change that. We link schools with established community clubs and coaching networks so that every pupil who wants to play can do so in a structured, supportive environment.
By combining expertise and facilities across Milton Keynes, the Alliance keeps rugby visible, inclusive and thriving from grassroots level upward.
Current Achievements
Since launching, MK Alliance has seen dozens of new players attend open sessions and several move on to join local clubs full-time. Our fixture events at Sports Central have showcased teamwork, spirit and impressive growth in ability.
Guest appearances from professional players have raised standards and inspired students, while the collaboration between clubs such as Milton Keynes RUFC, Olney RFC and Bletchley RUFC has created a genuine shared purpose. These successes highlight what can be achieved when schools and clubs work side by side.

Looking Ahead
The 2025–26 season marks an exciting new chapter for MK Alliance as we build on the strong foundations laid in our first full year of fixtures. Collaboration between schools, clubs and coaches continues to grow, and with it comes a broader programme designed to give every player a clear route into rugby.
A structured fixture calendar across MK East and MK West schools will ensure that every age group has regular opportunities to train, compete and represent their area. These fixtures not only strengthen skill development but also create a sense of pride and belonging within each school community.
The girls’ rugby programme will see further expansion, with new coaching sessions and festival events being introduced throughout the academic year. Our goal is to create sustainable teams that can progress into club rugby, helping to build long-term participation and visibility for girls’ sport in Milton Keynes.
We are also pursuing additional funding to cover the growing demand for facilities, equipment and training support. This will allow us to host more inclusive events at Sports Central and invest in resources that make participation accessible to all, regardless of background.
To close the season, we’re planning an end-of-season celebration that recognises not only player development but also the teachers, coaches and volunteers who make the programme possible. The event will showcase highlights from the year and shine a light on the teamwork, discipline and enjoyment that define the MK Alliance ethos.
Our long-term ambition is clear: to make Milton Keynes a national example of what can be achieved when schools and clubs work together to create a genuine community pathway for youth rugby — inclusive, sustainable and inspiring for all.
